What Is EFT Tapping?

by Oasis Wellness Partners on October 20, 2022       Oasis Wellness Partners - EFT Tapping

EFT is an acronym for “Emotional Freedom Technique” it is a therapy that uses the basis of acupuncture, without the use of needles to alleviate the emotional and physical stressors from life experience and disorders such as phobias, anxiety, PTSD, and trauma. EFT accesses these energy ports through the fingertips, gently tapping areas of the body to move energy and redirect negative emotions. EFT founder Gary Craig explains the core idea behind the practice as “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”

The process of EFT helps people overcome emotional, mental, and energetic blocks that lead to negative outcomes, helping the client take control of their mental, emotional, energetic, and physical well-being. At Oasis, giving you control of your health is our priority, so naturally we are thrilled to offer this therapy with our hypnotherapist, Laura Szafranski.

EFT Tapping has 5 Steps:

  1. Issue Identification - Determining the issue or fear that you have.
  2. Initial Intensity Test - Setting a benchmark level of intensity in order to scale the emotional or physical pain or discomfort that you feel from your focal problem.
  3. The Setup - Establishing a phrase that will explain your goal which focuses on issue acknowledgment and acceptance of oneself despite the problem.
  4. EFT Tapping Sequence - Refers to the 12 Major Meridians that reflect each side of the body and match up to an internal organ.
  5. Final Intensity Test - Rating the intensity level at the end of the sequence. Then, compare results from the initial intensity level.
